Mandala Done

Well I made my mandala following the direction of that video I posted here. Now I realize they did it a bit differently. Oh boy, that shows how well I follow instructions! They changed pen color as they went along. I'll have to try that on the next one. This one is made with a Pitt pen and watercolor pencil. It was fun. Have you tried one yet?

Prompt Page

In a class I am taking we swapped prompt cards and then made journal pages using one of them. I painted a simple painting with watercolor, glued on a smaller version of the prompt card and added my "story". I need more practice with watercolor, I know but it was fun to do. The fence was done with a Sharpie Poster paint pen since I didn't have frisket. I could have used gouache but the pen was handy and it worked.

Pandora

This is a picture of my Pandora. She was sitting still and pretty so I thought I'd have a chance to get a drawing of her. She started turning her head at the end so I didn't do so well on her face. I added some writing I am learning at Creative Workshops in a class called Calligrafun. I am just putting the letters together and haven't learned to decorate them yet. That's the next lesson!
I did find out that not all Pitt brush pens have the same stiffness and when I put a bit of pressure on this blue pen was shocked to see fat lines show up way too easily from what I had been getting with other brushes in the same set. If you use these pens watch out for that.

Doodle Fun

My daughter and her husband gave me a daily calendar for Christmas. It's a doodling one. Every day there is something drawn or partially drawn and a prompt given for working the page. I figured I'd have fun with doing some VERY quick drawings and then I figured I'd post them for your enjoyment.
Since I can scan four at a time, I guess that's how I'll post them. This is me getting silly! I don't do that often.

Mandala Anyone?

I saw this video on Vicki Holdwick's blog Faint Heart Art . I thought it was a great little drawing tool. Hope you like it too.

New Sketch for New Group

I wanted to make sure I started the new year with a sketch. I've joined a group of people who are going to start today to work through Cathy Johnson's Sketching in Nature book. Since I haven't read beyond supplies yet, I just did a simple pencil sketch. I hope to be doing more and better as I go through the book.
