All Done!

Here it is in all the glory it's going to get! This is my pear. Thanks so much Ann for the tutorial and thanks to everyone who has been keeping an eye on the project.

I left the border and the extra bit of paper on the bottom because I am wondering if I want to add "Pear" in calligraphy (Ann, was this a Bartlet?) or maybe something more in that space. I also am wondering about a background. What would any of you do? Leave it white, add some colored pencil - and what color would you use? I'm rather stumped at this point so thinking it'll probably remain white. All opinions welcome!

So once again, check out Blue Bird Hill as she can inspire you too!

  1. Gorgeous! Love the glow of light in this!

As to the background, why not get out some tracing paper and color it then lay it next to the pear and see what you think? I don't think I would add the whole background but rather an abstract shape on one side or the other in the upper quadrants.

    Wonderful work!

  2. Absolutely AMAZING!!!! :-D
It might be a Bartlett; there are so many varieties of yellow pears that are close in size and shape, I cannot answer for sure.
But my gosh, it looks good enough to EAT!
Artwise, I like it being afloat without a background.
I suppose if you really feel the need for one, go with some of the French Gray Prismacolors, light first, and see how they look.
Personally, I would mat it in a neutral gray mat and just let it glow!

    XXOO~~

  4. Beautiful! Why not scan it into Photoshop (or whatever program you have) and try out different backgrounds that way. It gives you an idea of how it would look without risking the original. Or make copies and add color to the copies. Any way you decide to go it is a stunning piece!

  6. Wow - great result. I'm a big fan of white space, so I'd just let the pear sit there shining ...

  12. Wonderful! I'll have to check out Ann's blog. I would just leave the white background, but I'm a fan of "less is more". One idea: When I add a title (see my bee or egg drawing) I do it on a separate piece of paper and add it to the drawing in Photoshop, so that I keep the original the way it is.

  14. Wowee wow! Looks fantastic! I like the idea of the text added, but I'd scan it first to save this version, then try playing around in a photo program. Looks great.
