I didn't originally do this popcorn as an EDM challenge but just to make myself draw something before I went to bed that night. I get tired of not finding time to draw. I drew it with a regular pencil and went to bed. (It seems silly but I was too tired to even draw the third piece of popcorn I'd tossed on my table). In the morning I decided to add some color so I just went over the pencil with yellow and blue colored pencils.
I wasn't going to go out of order on the challenges but in this case and perhaps in a few others I will. No sense in being hog tied to a non-rule!
Excellent work! You do very nice drawings when you're tired! You got the color just right, too.
ReplyDeleteOhhh...pass the salt please! Great job with all the little facets, nooks and sides.
ReplyDeletegreat job! love the shading on this. they lok good enough to eat. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is great! The kernels look like they are dancing.
ReplyDeleteYou did a super job on the popcorn - and that's not an easy thing to draw!
ReplyDeleteGreat job! So many details on those little things - not easy at all! they look great!
ReplyDeleteIt came out great. And you were tired? I couldn't draw that well if I had 10 cups of coffee. LOL!
ReplyDeleteI've only looked at a few posts, but this is a great idea. I keep meaning to start regular drawing and sketching practise but, like you said on this post, it often gets pushed out. I have some terrific pencils, pastels, tinted charcoals and papers of all types and colours, but they just sit there waiting to be used. I must get this sorted! Thanks for the inspiration.=)
ReplyDeleteI like these - it is really a lovely sketch
ReplyDeleteYou're funny, Freebird . . . non-rule.
ReplyDeletePopcorn looks good enough to eat!
Thanks for your comment. No, I don't spin my own wool ... not that I'm ruling it out at some point! :) I would love to try dyeing yarn with Kool-Aid sometime ... and carving my own rubber stamps ... and making ATCs ... and so many other things I haven't managed to fit in yet!
ReplyDeleteYour popcorn looks great, and the added colour works well! My own approach to the list of challenges is very haphazard indeed ... I think I would go insane taking the week's prompt as some sort of rule.
This is a wonderful drawing! I can't believe you were so tired when you did this!
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed your blog! I know I'll be a frequent visitor after today.
Thanks for the kind words you left me on my little blog. :-)
I knew it was popcorn right away. I do this all the time. Start a drawing right before bed just to quit making excuses for not getting any drawings done. Well you need to keep up the great work. I have missed you!
ReplyDeleteI haven't had popcorn in awhile.

ReplyDeleteVery nice. The shadows make them pop off the page (pun intended). I have to force myself to start doing the challenges.
