Hat Redone

Laure suggested I add more shading to my hat to make the contours show up better. I did just that and like it much better. I reposted the old pic with the new so you can see the difference. Thanks Laure!

And remember everyone, Laure teaches watercolor with her Imaginary Trips where we learn to not only dive into watercolor, that scary medium, but learn to do things like shade objects better, sketch out our ideas and more. Any class of hers will only help you as you have fun while learning. Click on the Imaginary Trips button on the right side of my blog for more info. I'm just finishing another class with her and will be posting pics soon.

  1. There is a big difference in the second drawing; it really does show the fold of the hat.
I would not have the guts to try a fuzzy hat drawing....no way! :D It's great!

  3. I agree the second one is better : it's more tridimensional. The texture looks amazing, it seems so soft! Wonderful hat and awesome drawing!
And your christmas card looks fabulous! I have the impression that each time I come to look at your art, you've gotten even better than the last time - where will you stop? ^^
